Turn the notes you keep into a piece of writing
Booklog's three core features, each with a screen example and the steps to use it.
Review Draft
Open your review using only the quotes and thoughts you saved
When this happens
Your notes pile up, but the first line of a review never comes. Even with your notes open, you don't know where to start.
Screen example
How it works
- 1
Three notes or more
Save at least three quotes or thoughts for a book to unlock a draft.
- 2
Check the sources
We preview the notes it draws on, and after drafting you can jump back to the ones it actually used.
- 3
Keep editing
The draft is a starting point, not a finished piece. Continue in the same editor.
What you get
You end up with a review in your own words.
Also
No invention
Built not to add impressions or plot summaries that aren't in your notes. Book details are used only for context.
Long quotes filtered
Checks quote length so the draft doesn't copy long passages from the book.
Publish elsewhere
Copy your polished review into a blog post or newsletter.
Reading Timer
Time your reading and pages, and keep one line on the spot
When this happens
You only have a rough sense of how much you read, and the thoughts you had while reading are gone once you close the book.
Screen example
How it works
- 1
Start reading
Tap “Start reading” from your library or a book page. The timer keeps running even if you close the screen.
- 2
How far did you read?
When you finish, enter the page you stopped at. Your last progress is already filled in.
- 3
One line
Keep a sentence or thought that stayed with you. It becomes material for your review later. You can skip it.
What you get
Your reading time adds up where you can see it, and you don't lose the thoughts you had.
Also
Pause
Pause when you step away. Paused time isn't counted.
Continue on any device
Time is recorded on the server, so you can start on your phone and finish on your laptop.
Share as a card
Save your time, pages, progress, and the line you kept as a feed (4:5) or story (9:16) image.
Days read this week
See how many days you read this week on the home screen and your yearly reading time in stats.
Transcribe
Rewrite your saved lines over faded text, three a day
When this happens
You save good lines and never look at them again. The more you save, the more you forget what you kept.
Screen example
How it works
- 1
Today's deck
We pick three of your lines to revisit, least-revisited and longest-unseen first.
- 2
Write over the original
Type over the faded text and correct characters sharpen into ink.
- 3
Streak
Come back the next day and your streak grows. Each session ends with a short summary.
What you get
The lines you saved stay with you.
Also
Typewriter sound
Turn on typewriter sounds and write in a serif face if you like.
A whole book
Transcribe every note from one book from its detail page.
No auto-advance
Move on with Enter or the button when you're done. A few typos are fine.
Try it first, no sign-up
Free calculators that run only in your browser. No account, nothing saved.
Frequently asked questions
Review Draft
How many drafts are free?
The free plan includes one draft a month. Pro allows twenty and Max fifty. Notes, library, and transcription stay free.
Will it write a review if I haven't read the book?
No. It needs your own quotes and thoughts and writes only from them.
Can I write it myself?
Yes. Write from scratch, or start from a draft and edit.
Reading Timer
What if I forget to stop the timer?
If a timer ran for more than 3 hours, you'll be asked for the time you actually read when you finish, so idle time doesn't pile up.
Can I time two books at once?
One book at a time. If you start another book, you'll be guided to finish the current one first.
Is the reading timer free?
Yes. The reading timer, library, notes, and transcription are free on every plan. Paid plans only add more AI review drafts.
Transcribe
Do I need notes first?
Yes. Transcribe only uses lines you saved. Save your first line and today's deck fills in.
Do you provide book text?
No. Booklog doesn't host book text; you only rewrite the quotes and thoughts you saved.
Is transcription free?
Yes. Transcribe is free on every plan.
